Review:

This film begins giving us a background of a boy who goes missing. From there we see different news reports and newspapers about people turning up missing and search parties looking for them. None are found though.

We then shift to a vehicle that is going for a ski trip. The people we have are the driver, who is played by Tomas Alf Larsen. His girlfriend is played by Ingrid Bolsø Berdal. In the back is another couple played by Endre Martin Midstigen and Viktoria Winge. The fifth wheel is the joker of the group and he is played by Rolf Kristian Larsen.

The ski trip takes them out to a remote mountain and they go snowboarding. During which, Rolf breaks his leg. They are trying to find out what to do for him when they find a hotel nearby. It is abandoned so they decide to stay there. Berdal tries to help mend his leg.

The problem is this place isn’t abandoned. Someone roams the hall and waits for each character to be alone and then he strikes. He is bundled up from head-to-toe a parka, hat, mask and goggles. He carries a type of pick-axe and he is built like a house. Will anyone survive this madman?

This film first off is from Norway and is in Norwegian, so in order to watch it here you would need to use subtitles. With that said though, I really enjoyed it and I like the take on the slasher film this one took. Since the slasher film has been done over and over, a new take on it is needed and this one gives it. It adds the isolation of being in the middle of nowhere and being snowed in, which just adds to the film.

The acting is well done and I think Rolf was hilarious. The attack senses are somewhat jumpy and what adds to them is the great soundtrack this film has with it. What I also like is the killer doesn’t clean up his attacks, but he is really good at hiding the bodies. When someone dies, they practically disappear. He is also pretty calculating as well.

I would recommend this one horror film only if you are someone who can handle subtitled movies. Not the best horror movie out there, but definitely better than a lot I have seen. I would recommend a viewing if this sounded good.
