Review:

This film begins with a woman, who is played by Camille Keaton, leaving New York City for the country. We learn that she has bought a summer home on the river and that is where she is headed. She talks with the gas station attendant/owner, who is played by Eron Tabor, who tells her she is going to like it here. There are two guys playing a game, that involves a knife and throwing it into the ground. Those two are played by Anthony Nicols and Gunter Kleemann.

She leaves and goes up to her place. A mentally retarded man delivers the groceries she ordered, he is played by Richard Pace. They talk for a bit and we learn that she is a writer, has a few short stories published, but is there to write her first novel.

We then get some scenes of Tabor, Nicols, Kleemann and Pace hanging out, where we learn that Pace is a virgin and the rest want to get him laid. We then see Keaton working on her writing. She is interrupted by Nicols and Kleemann messing around in the river on their boat.

One day Keaton is floating down the river in her boat when those two come up on her. They scare her at first before pulling her boat with theirs. They lead her to a place where they meet up with Tabor and Pace. The group proceeds to each take their turn at raping her and she ends up lying on her floor. Before they leave, Pace is told to kill her, but he doesn’t.

No word or anything comes about her body being found and they are all on edge about it. She is alive and well, ready to get her revenge on each one of them, one at a time.

First off I want to commend Keaton for her role, because it would have been tough to play in that a good portion of this film she is naked. She does a great job at showing the pain and humiliation of being raped. I also want to commend the men for their roles, because that is something tough to pretend to do. They all make funny faces though, their only downfall.

The story is this film is horrible in what happens to her, but I mean you do rally behind her to get her revenge on the guys. Their reasons for what they did are horrible and you see how much of cowards they are when she comes after them.

I would recommend this film if you’re a horror movie fan. It is your typical revenge exploitation film from the 70s. The acting isn’t amazing, but as I said for what it is, it isn’t bad. Not the greatest film by any stretch, but a film where you see people get murdered and you don’t feel bad for them. This film has a cult following and for what happens in this film, it can be tough for many to stomach. I personally would say if you can handle what happens, then I would say give it a viewing.
